Do Good Design Part 1
So what I've learned so far is that this book itself is an example of good design. It's printed on environmentally responsible paper, soy-based inks, and environmentally responsible production processes. That's already a great support to back up the argument of this book. I also learned that design is a business and that even though designers don't directly deal with the business aspects, its a fact designers must learn to deal with, and deal with cleverly. I'm learning various things about industrial designers that I never knew before. As an industrial design major in my foundation year, I was getting scared that I might have chosen the wrong major. but reading this book put me back on track by making me realize all the reasons I did choose to be an industrial designer. For instance, one aspect about industrial design that swayed me into studying it is its power to engage the world and change the future. I learned that designers shape everything - designers make the world go 'round. Currently i'm reading about the biggest threat to humanity, which is overconsumption. This book is definitely on the right track, I can't wait to finish reading it.
